Summary
The purpose of the project is to study the concept of Europe in different historical periods in political discourse and socio-cultural narrative; to highlight progress of the ideas of integration in Europe from the era of antiquity to the present. It will help to show how the personal dimension of the perception of Europe allows in a unique way, through value priorities, to emphasize the importance of the achievements of European civilization. It also allows to determine the role and pragmatic potential of this concept for modern Ukraine.
The project promotes research and first teaching experience for young researchers and scholars and practitioners in European Union issues, and creates interest in the EU and constitutes the basis for future poles of European knowledge.
The realities of modern social and political life cause new demands on educational programs that should provide not only deep theoretical knowledge, but also acquire skills in critical thinking, analysis, personal development, communication quality and promote effective professional activity, to form a proactive person.
The relevance of the project is caused by the official state policy of Ukraine and its intention to integrate to the European and Transatlantic structures. It includes the fields of secondary and higher education, science and culture.
ChNPU and other humanitarian universities of the region have no chairs or similar European integration courses that could be sustainable academic research base for the given subject and students education. Therefore, we want to create conditions to start this process in the region.
This module will facilitate the introduction of the history of European integration process and its modernity, will give deeper understanding of the Ukraine`s place in this process, future models and perspectives for cooperation for Ukrainian students.
The proposal is aimed to promote in Educational-scientific Oleksandr Lazarevsky Institute of history, ethnology and law European Union studies, provide first teaching experience for young scholars, practitioners and scientific researchers in EU issues.
The main feature of this program is a deep historical background of the EU idea and accent on the possibility of implementation of EU law onto Ukrainian realities.
The program is based on modern methodology (conceptual and cognitive approaches), as well as innovative forms and methods of teaching. It will form a stable recognition and understanding of the mechanisms of influence on the general public mentality of the information about EU in media, science books etc. This is especially necessary and important in circumstances of information war being waged in the media and social networks. The program will improve the stability of the young generation of media influence, raise critical attitude to the quality of information flow. Consideration of the concept of Europe on the historical and contemporary examples will increase the ability of young people to identify pragmatic filling of the concept, identify the reasons and methods of presentation of its positive and negative content. This will reduce social stress associated with long-term negative filling of the concept of Europe and the West and its subconcepts of European countries. Such attitude was formed over a long period of time from the time of the Russian Empire, and later - in the Soviet Union. Modern Ukrainian society is post-Soviet and thus contains a lot of its reminicences. So the aim of the program is to intensify creation of positive image of EU and its countries.
The proposed program fosters the publication and dissemination of the results in different variety of deliverables: didactic materials, books and other academic publications, scientific papers, brochures, journals with students’ scientific papers etc.

Description
The didactic book contains the translations of the texts of primary sources and didactic recommendations for organizing of the seminars and practical classes on the history of European integration and European Union. It also contains the programme of the course, control questions, tests and other annexes.
The book consists of three thematic modules:
1) The origin and development of the idea of European unity;
2) Ukraine and the European Union: the formation of relations and spheres of cooperation;
3) state-church relations: the European dimension.
It is designed for students, teachers and wide audience, who is interested in the history of European integration.

Podebrad (1420-1471) is considered one of the greatest achievements of the European integration
thought of the Middle Ages. Many of the ideas of the association proposed in the project
of the peaceful establishment of Europe remain relevant in our time.
This book is the first translation of the Treatise into Ukrainian language. For students, teachers and everyone interested in history.

The materials of the tutorial can be used as a new EU-angle of individual socio-humanities disciplines and find application in the programs of study courses of institutions of higher education, in development of normative themes of the courses of history, separate themes in the history of Europe and other disciplines.

Description
The practicum aims to familiarize students with the peculiarities of the state-legal development of Ukraine in various historical periods. The specificity of the informative component of the course led to the inclusion in the educational and methodical manual of topics devoted to the study of the state-legal tradition on the territory of Ukrainian lands from ancient times to the first half of the seventeenth century. Without diminishing the role and significance of all (both internal and external) factors that were related to the process of national state-building and law-making, students are encouraged to look at it, first of all, through the prism of the European state-legal culture. Accordingly, in the practicum special attention is paid to such achievements as, for example, the police organization of the cities-states of the Northern Black Sea coast, the Magdeburg law, etc., as well as analyzes the political and legal institutions of neighboring states.
